About this list

‘Database aggregators’ are databases that aggregate data from other databases, possibly even other database aggregators.

The organization that is mentioned as ‘Run by’ is the one identified as the organization running the database, not necessarily owning it nor necessarily providing the data.

The list is the result of manual collection from internet and other sources.

In case you wonder why the CIA’s World Fact Book is in this list: Nature conservation is about more than biology and biodiversity. It is about more than ‘just’ nature.

Do note, that the list mixes open access, commercial databases and everything in between.

Disclaimer : The data is provided ‘as is’. I compiled it to the best of my abilities. The list is not complete and errors may occur. If you find any errors or know of possible additions, then please do let me know.
